A New Culinary Experience
Diplomatic chefs have traveled the world, spreading the authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine.
Japan’s rich and diverse natural environment continues to provide an abundance of local specialties.
The meeting of these elements results in uniquely original dishes, creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience that touches the hearts of visitors.
History About the Sano Residence
Restaurant 〝Ahora Aqui〟is located in the nationally registered tangible cultural property, the Sano Residence Main House in Takaoka, Toyama.Built shortly after the Great Takaoka Fire of 1900, this two-story earthen storehouse-style building was designed with high fire-resistant walls to prevent future disasters. Among the remaining earthen buildings in Takaoka, this one is notable for incorporating Western-style design elements. The staircase railings and the interior of the Western-style room on the second floor are especially praised.
Within the premises,
you can enjoy the tranquil beauty of the traditional Japanese garden,
stone lanterns, and the tea house 〝Kan’untei〟,
all of which contribute to the charming atmosphere.
Ingredient
An Unparalleled Gastronomic Experience Crafted by Worldly Chefs
The Pillars of Our Cuisine: Toyama’s Natural Bounty
Toyama is a treasure trove of premium ingredients, including:
Himi’s winter yellowtail, Etchu Manyo beef, snow crab from Toyama Bay, freshly harvested seasonal vegetables...
At Restaurant〝Ahora Aqui〟, we bring out the essence of these ingredients by combining them with the chef’s experience, creativity, and playful touch to create a world of flavors on a single plate.
Drink
My roots are in Wajima City. I have also worked as a chef at Japanese embassies overseas.
As a Japanese chef, I value the most important thing: to make the most of the quality of seasonal ingredients without overdoing it.
Through my encounter with French chef Yokota, I hope to create a playful presentation and a new worldview that transcends the genre of cuisine.
Owner Chef Kimihiko Okado
Our sake selection primarily features local Toyama sake, carefully curated to complement each dish. We also offer wine pairings selected by our sommelier to enhance your dining experience.
Head Chef Keisuke Yokota
I learned the basics of French cuisine in Japan, studied in France, and obtained a Bib Gourmand award before returning to my hometown of Toyama.
I reinterpret classic dishes with a modern touch, sometimes incorporating Japanese elements.
I hope to surprise and delight you with innovative flavor combinations you have never experienced before.
